I found the verse Acts 9:43 strange..."Peter stayed in Joppa for some time with a tanner named Simon."
My study Bible helped clarify that it was significant that Peter stayed with a man whose occupation was turning dead animals into leather hides since contact with dead animals was considered unclean by Jewish law. Perhaps God was preparing Peter for his dramatic dream which helped him understand more clearly what God considers clean and unclean.
It made me think of the many situations or circumstance I face that perhaps it is God's way of preparing me for something down the road.
