I found comfort in the words in the Devotional "God will be your companion on the journey of life".
I also found it interesting that Aaron made the calf for the Israelites - even though the Lord told Moses to bring Aaron up with him (Ex 19:24). It kinda reminded me of parents sometimes (and i have to admit, I've done this too!) that the kids are complaining about something or whining about this thing or that and even though you shouldn't do something, you end up doing it any way just to shut them up! I'm breaking my bad habit of giving Owen snacks to shut him up when I'm trying to talk on the phone...
Also, I found it interesting that the Israelites said numerous times "We will do everything the Lord has said; we will obey." But I know later on they did not do everything the Lord had said and they didn't always obey - but God did not leave them...what a great reminder that God will never leave us!
Oh, I also found it interesting that God specifically told Moses to have Aaron and the other priests worship at a distance - but later on they end up seeing God anyway...yet, God did not destroy them...
