In the devotional book I liked how it reminded us that a "close reading of Scripture reveals something about God that we didn't recognize before". It is just another reason to continually read our Bibles - We will always be learning more and more about God!
Also, I personally get frustrated at times not knowing what God's plan is or how things will work out - the story of Noah and how the devotional book said that God had every detail worked out even before revealing anything to Noah. What a great reminder that if we follow Him, He will and has taken care of everything -- EVERYTHING!!!
With the Bible reading, I'm glad I got the study Bible because it is helping me understand alot more than if I were just reading through the texts. The book of Leviticus truly demonstrates how holy God is and how much we fail at even being close to His holiness. All the "rules" were to help the priest be the best example of God they could be. And I feel all the repetitive reminders of the rules stressed the importance of these rules and just like me today, I need constant reminders on how great and holy God really is!
