I liked the reminder in the devotional book how even when David "went through troubles so severe he called them 'the valley of the shadow of death', he didn't travel that road alone. The shepherd went with him, offering comfort, protecting him with His rod and guiding him with His staff". It is reassuring that we will face suffering in our lives, but never alone - God is always with his...we don't have to handle it alone!
