Every time I read about the punishement it strikes me that the whole nation suffers because of one person (king most of the time). I was just thinking that we need to be very wise in choosing our leaders and do it always with prayer.

I couldn't imagine giving a stranger my last meal knowing that my son or myself would not be able to eat and would most likely die. I found the story very interesting though, that how weak faith can be. This lady, after being blessed day after day without running out of oil or flour still questioned Elijah being a man from God and him speaking the truth. It took something so drastic - her son's death - for her to believe that Elijah's words were true! God reminds us to all we need is faith the size of a mustard seed - yet He continually does things some miraculous to increase our faith!
