Again, the Bible talks about those who obey the law and commands and sought God and work wholeheartedly - they prospered in the Lord. (2 Chron 31:21). My study Bible goes to explain "Does seeking God guarantee success?" And the answer provided is "Yes and no. Faithfulness in seeking God does not guarantee that he will grant us success if we define success in terms of acquiring wealth, prestige and power. That is not to say, however, that God couldn't bless us with those gifts. What God does guarantee is that when we seek him, we will enjoy the success of finding the source of love and peace and reason for hope. Whether or not God blesses us with those signs of success that our society cherishes, the writer of Chronicles makes it clear that we must focus not on seeking success but on seeking God."

Also, I enjoyed how each chapter stated whether the new King "did right in the eyes of the Lord or did not do what is right in the eyes of the Lord". I pray that I can say and other could too, I do right in the eyes of the Lord!
