okay, I know this is probable a naive question, but is the brutal David we are reading about the same little boy name David who fought Goliath?
I have to admit I struggle a bit trying to understand what the point of all these stories we have been reading these last couple of days...I'm not getting any clear message of who God is and I'm not feeling like these readings are really strengthening my relationship with Him. Just a lot of fighting and what seems like very cruel treatment.
I guess one thing I just read that is important to remember is the Lord will do what is good in His sight (2 Sam 10:12).
I don't think you're alone in your feelings, Jen. I wish I had a satisfying answer. It is hard to reconcile a lot of these stories with the image of a loving Jesus.
