I found it interesting that 4 generations of younger brothers received their father's blessing instead of the older brother - I wonder why God wanted it to be that way. (Isaac instead of Ishmael, Jacob instead of Esau, Joseph instead of Reuben, and Ephraim instead of Manasseh).

I also was reminded on how powerful the act of forgiveness is...or in the case of Joseph's brothers, is not...They lived the whole time holding onto guilt for what they did to their brother Joseph, that even after their father died, instead of going to Joseph and asking for forgiveness, the brothers had to make up a story. They told Joseph how their father asked Joseph to forgive them for what they did to him...(Gen 50:17)

And I liked Joseph's response "Don't be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done..." (Gen 50:19-20).

I want to live my life more and more "in the place of God".
